Dental implants - surgery

What if a tooth is missing from your mouth? In addition to being unaesthetically pleasing, a gap can cause the surrounding teeth to lean into the gap or cause the teeth in the opposite jaw to erupt where the opposing tooth is missing. Last but not least, using one side of the jaw more often to chew food can cause problems with the jaw joint in the future, which is why there are dental implants. Price in our dental centre is 14.800,- CZK for the insertion of your own “screw”.
We use INNO implants and Straumann implants.

Really ideal solutions in modern dentistry are dental implants. Pricethat the patient has to pay for it consists in a surgical procedure that lasts from about one to two hours depending on the complexity of the procedure. With subsequent postoperative healing of about 3 days to one week. Only rarely are individual missing teeth replaced with removable dentures. When replacing an old bridge, it is advantageous to have a dental bridge made again, but for all other situations, dental implants are the best solution. Simply put, an implant is a titanium screw that is inserted into the jawbone and replaces the root of the tooth. Therefore, there is no need to grind down the surrounding own teeth and the healed dental implants have a very long life. It sounds simple, but implant placement takes time and a high level of precision and experience on the part of the implantologist. Once the implant is placed in the bone, it takes 3-8 months before the final tooth replacement – the crown – can be attached. The healing time of implants also depends on the location of the implant, the quality and width of the bone in the jaws.

While the implant is healing, the patient receives a temporary restoration, so he does not have to worry about going without a tooth. In exceptionally favourable situations, it is also possible to make a provisional crown on the day of implant placement. After the dental implants are inserted during the so-called second phase, they must be fitted with an insertion roller, i.e. a kind of “cover through the gum” or a provisional crown or bridges around which the soft tissues are aesthetically sculpted and the shape, inclination, position and functional movements of the future final crown are tested. These are then cemented or screwed onto the implant (or abutment – which is a kind of mandrel that connects the implant to the crown).

There are very few situations where it is not medically possible for a patient to have dental implants placed. However, the price to pay for this is that a conventional solution using a removable restoration or fixed bridge is used. Sometimes the limiting factor for implant placement may be insufficient bone for the actual placement, but there are many methods to replace or regain lost bone. With proper dental care of dental implants in good dental offices, the success rate of insertion and healing is over 97%. The lifetime of implants is theoretically not limited in any way and with proper dental hygiene of the patient, which is crucial, it is a very long-term solution. The care also includes regular follow-ups in the office, including X-rays. Any problem, even a small one, that is caught early can be easily addressed with the benefit of dental implants. However, the cost of neglecting to follow up with an implantologist can be high and, in the worst cases, can result in the loss of the implant. Therefore, it is not a good idea to underestimate regular implant checks.

Dental Surgery, Dental Surgery

At Podkovka Dental Centre we deal with almost all fields of dental surgery. It is, like other disciplines, an integral part of modern dentistry and nowadays also a highly specialised field.

The field of dental surgery includes not only extraction of wisdom teeth, but also extraction for orthodontic reasons, removal of cysts, neoplasms, resection or excision. We also perform tooth transplants after consultation with an orthodontist. However, we can also deal with acute difficulties or pain or other surgical procedures.

Nowadays, stoma surgery is increasingly concerned with the insertion of dental implants and related procedures such as sinus-lift, guided bone regeneration and autologous bone or soft tissue transplantation. The procedures are performed under local anaesthesia with thorough premedication with painkillers and anti-edema drugs. We cover many procedures with antibiotics as a precaution. To make the patient more comfortable, it is possible to supplement the premedication with medication, after which he or she sleeps lightly for most of the procedure and does not have to stress about unpleasant sensations and sounds. Prices for minor surgical procedures range from CZK 700.

The Podkovka Dental Centre offers a specialist in the field of stomatology and implantology MUDr. Jan Špiller. He has long and very successful experience in dental surgery and is currently an active lecturer in this field at dental congresses and seminars.

If you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact us and arrange a consultation with a doctor. Call us at 725 094 931 or email us at info@podkovka.cz. You can find your way to us on the contact page.
